TEXT OF EMAIL SENT TO ADC PLANNING ON 11.5.18 REGARDING SATURDAY WORKING HOURS AT TUDOR LODGE DEVELOPMENT

I write on behalf the Angmering on Sea Estate Residents’ Association.

I notice in today’s planning notices that on 4 May Rocco Homes sought permission to alter their onsite working hours to include Saturdays 0800 – 1300. ADC’s decision was made the same day without any consultation with those effected by the change.

As you are aware Tudor Lodge, Sea Road, is not part of this Estate. Access to the Tudor Lodge worksite, however, is via South Strand – which is part of our private Estate. Although a covenant in the Land Registry deeds for Tudor Lodge permits use of South Strand the Estate does not allow our residents’ contractors to work on Saturdays as to do so disturbs the peaceful environment in which we live. Construction work on the Tudor Lodge site will add to the significant disturbance already being experienced by our residents – especially those who live in Palm Court Cottages and Coastguard Cottages.

Furthermore, as far as I can establish there has been no advance warning either by ADC or Rocco Homes of the proposed changes to Rocco’s Construction Management Plan. This absence of opportunity has prevented our Association, our residents, and others in the neighborhood, from commenting on the changes. You may wish to consider this negligence in the light of item 8 of Condition 3 of the Planning Inspectorate’s conditions, which deals with public engagement prior to and during construction works. There was no public engagement in this regard!

The Estate and its residents look forward to this decision being reversed.
